Relational Autonomy

A philosophical approach to rationing. A Tauber writes that in the ideal world it would be morally sound for a healthcare system to ration its resources. Reflecting on the USA and Australia, Tauber strikes down the private-approach to health services stating that it does not provide equal and fair opportunity to all individuals. Serving Health care as a commodity, is fine for the few privledged but unfortunate for the many poor. Tauber supports rationing and prioritization of resources to meet the principles of both distributive justice and autonomy. The focus of his article is to outline why the principle of autonomy is better understood as as "relational autonomy." He states that there is no such thing as an autonomous individual when we live in a world based on the context of social relationships.

My First Crack at it

What am I doing? Starting a blog of course. I am going to make this one short because I am eager to explore the features of "blogging." The purpose of this blog is to outline my exploration of "the sea inside", "the path untraveled" and in the words of my mentoring father, "the truth within us all."
